Bolivian Volcanoes Huayna Potosi and Illimani
Our Bolivia trip focuses on climbing Illimani and visiting the Cordillera Real region. We will climb a series of smaller peaks to gain the acclimatization we’ll need for Huayna Potosi and then Illimani. The Cordillera Real rises dramatically just north of La Paz and offers many challenging options for climbing and trekking. Basic snow and ice climbing skills are needed for this trip. We will have time to visit several smaller villages along the way for a fascinating look at Bolivia, the culture of the local mountain people, and the Andes. Cotopaxi volcano, Ecuador.
