Welcome to the Everest 2006 Season! We are again going back to Everest this spring!  Heading for the North Ridge this year, working together with a group of friends. Adventures International has teamed up with Jamie McGuinness of Project Himalaya and Duncan Chessell of DXCP Mountain Journeys  for a strong go on the Tibet side this year. Adventures International director, Scott Woolums will be leading this trip. This will be his forth trip to Everest. We'll all be working closely together as Jamie is working with the Everest Peace Project also on the north side.

Everything is in place now for a super good trip! We are approaching it a little different than most expeditions. The climbing team together with some good friends will be starting things off April 3 with a trek into the south side base camp in Nepal to acclimatize. Then we will return to Kathmandu and blast over to Tibet in trucks, right up to base camp. The team will be super acclimatized and fit from our trek and ready to head right up to the North Col. This program should help eliminate "high altitude burn out" and "the boredom factor" of hanging for almost an extra month in the same base camp and higher.  This schedule is very carefully balanced to allow very good acclimatization with not spending actually too long up really high. This can be a problem on the north side as there is nowhere to descend lower as you can on the south side (before the summit). We are all very jazzed about this, as it is a proven formula to keep things interesting, see both sides of the hill, and be ready when the better weather (mellow breeze and sunshine!) kicks in towards the end of May. We'll be there and be ready!

We have one of the best teams of Sherpas, a very well proven schedule, solid support staff and strong leadership to give everyone their best chance for success! Working together with both Jamie and Duncan we are pooling a very high level of experience into one trip! Follow the team! Guaranteed to be havin' the most fun on the mountain this season!
